Tee Times and Results
Optimist Junior Golf, in cooperation with Shotstat, will feature live scoring at the Tournament of Champions. See tee times, results and the hole-by-hole scores of players as they compete. To view, click here.

Age divisions offered:

  • Boys 11-13, Boys 14-15 and Boys 16-18
  • Girls 11-13 and Girls 14-18
Open to boys and girls who are between the ages of 11 and 18 through the final round on November 10, 2019. To be eligible, golfers may not be enrolled in college. Golfers who are younger than 11 may apply to "play up" and will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

Tournament Format
Competition is 36-hole stroke play with tournament rounds on Saturday and Sunday; Optional practice rounds are available on Friday. Carts and caddies are prohibited for all tournament rounds.

The tournament will be played on the International (Boys 16-18, 14-15) and National (Boys 11-13, Girls 11-13 and Girls 14-18) golf courses.

Registration Fee
Registration fee: $375 US includes two tournament rounds, range balls prior to play, golfer's lunch on both tournament round days, and an Optimist Golf gift package. Player/family is responsible for making their own hotel arrangements.

A special rate of $129 per night plus tax is available at Omni Hotel and Resort (ChampionsGate). To make a reservation, call 1-800-THE-OMNI (1-800-843-6664) and mention; Optimist Tournament of Champions or click here to make reservations online. Reservation cutoff date is October 14, 2019. Reservations made after this date will be accepted on a space available basis only. A guarantee will be required at time of reservation for one night room and tax by credit card or check. Refund Policy: Please review the following refund policy before withdrawing from an Optimist Junior Golf event:
Tournaments: Players that have registered for a tournament may withdraw between the date of their registration and three weeks prior to the event's first tee time and receive a full refund minus a $25 processing fee.
After three weeks prior to the first tee time, players will be charged $100 of the original entry fee.
10 days or less of the first tee time, no refund will be issued.

Practice Rounds
Optional practice rounds for the Tournament of Champions are available on Friday for $55.00 plus tax. Call Championsgate at (407) 787-4653 mention Optimist Tournament of Champions for availability.

Exemptions into 2020 Optimist International Junior Golf Championship

Top finishers of the Tournament of Champions will be exempt from having to qualify for the summer 2020 Optimist International Junior Golf Championship held at Doral Resort in Doral, Florida as follows: Boys 11-13 (Top 5) Boys 14-15 (Top 10) Boys 16-18 (Top 15); Girls 11-13 (Top 5), 14-18 (Top 10) plus ties.

Rules and Regulations
The Tournament will be played in accordance with USGA and local course rules. A local rules sheet will be given to all players at registration.

Carts, Pull Carts, Caddies and Distance Measuring Devices
Electric carts and caddies are prohibited in all age divisions for all tournament rounds. Pull carts are allowed in all age divisions for all rounds.  Participants must provide their own equipment. 

Spectator carts are available on a limited availability basis. You can rent them first come, first served through the ChampionsGate Golf Shop on the days of play.

Distance measuring devices are allowed. In this competition a player may obtain distance information by use of a distance-measuring device. If, during a round, a player uses a distance-measuring device to gauge or measure other conditions that might affect his play (e.g. elevation changes, wind speed, etc.) the player is in breach of Rule 4.3(1).

Completion of Play

Provided there are no weather or other delays, the final round is scheduled to conclude by 3:00 p.m. However, tournament play will extend to 4:00 p.m. on November 10 if necessary. Please plan your departures accordingly and allow for ample time for airport transfers. If the final round cannot be completed by 4:00 p.m. due to inclement weather or other unforeseen circumstances and it is determined that all players in an age division cannot complete 18 holes by 4:00 p.m. but the entire field in an age division can complete a common course front or back 9 holes, then the tournament will revert to a 27-hole event. If a common 9 holes cannot be completed on the final day then the tournament will revert back to the last round completed by the entire field in an age division.

ChampionsGate Golf Club is located at 8575 White Shark Blvd. ChampionsGate, Fl 33896, From Orlando International Airport: Take the North exit from the airport, to the Beeline Expressway Westbound also known as highway 528. Take the Beeline westbound to I-4. Take I-4 westbound towards Tampa and follow the directions above for those traveling westbound on I-4. Approximately 30 minutes from Orlando International Airport.
