Exemptions
Top finishers will be exempt from having to qualify for the summer 2020 Optimist International Junior Golf Championship held at Trump National Doral (Miami, FL) as follows:

Boys 16-18 (Top 2)
Boys 14-15 (Top 1)
Boys 11-13 (Top 2)
Girls 14-18 (Top 2)
Girls 11-13 (Top 3)

Age Divisions and Eligibility
Age divisions offered: Boys 16-18, 14-15, 11-13 and Girls 14-18 and 11-13. To be eligible, golfers may not be enrolled in college. All golfers may apply to "play up" and will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

** All players must meet the scoring criteria for this event in order to qualify for the Championship.

Tournament Format
Competition is 36-hole stroke play. Carts and caddies are prohibited for all tournament rounds. Time and weather permitting, a playoff will occur for first place positions only. All other ties will be broken using a scorecard playoff.

Registration Fee
The registration fee for the tournament is $180.00 CN. The registration fee includes two tournament rounds, range balls prior to play and an Optimist Golf gift package. Player or family is responsible for making their own hotel arrangements. Deadline to registration – August 9, 2019 – registration based on space availability –first come-first serve.

Refunds
Refund Policy: Please review the following refund policy before withdrawing from an Optimist Junior Golf event:
Tournaments: Players that have registered for a tournament may withdraw between the date of their registration and three weeks prior to the event's first tee time and receive a full refund minus a $25 processing fee.
After three weeks prior to the first tee time, players will be charged $100 of the original entry fee.
10 days or less of the first tee time, no refund will be issued.

Travel and Transportation
Kingsville Golf and Country Club is located in Kingsville, Ontario Canada, it's located just 30 minutes from the Windsor/Detroit border. It's approximately 1 hour and 10 minutes from Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport.

Practice Rounds
Optional practice rounds are available seven days in advance of the event. Call Kingsville Golf Club at (519) 733-6561 for available times. Greens fee cost is $45 CND walking. All fees for practice rounds are payable directly to Kingsville Golf & Country Club.

Driving Range and Putting Green
Registration includes range balls prior to play and unlimited access to practice greens on days of rounds.

Rules and Regulations
The tournament will be played in accordance with all USGA and local course rules. A local rules sheet will be given to all players at tournament registration.

Scoring Policy
Pace of Play and Tips

Carts, Pull Carts, Caddies and Distance Measuring Devices
Electric carts and caddies are prohibited in all age divisions for all tournament rounds. Pull carts are allowed in all age divisions for all rounds.  Participants must provide their own equipment. 
Distance measuring devices are allowed. In this competition a player may obtain distance information by use of a distance-measuring device. If, during a stipulated round, a player uses a distance-measuring device to gauge or measure other conditions that might affect his play (e.g. elevation changes, wind speed, etc.) the player is in breach of Rule 14-3.
Completion of Play
Provided there are no weather or other delays, the final round is scheduled to conclude by dark. Please plan your departures accordingly and allow for ample time for airport transfers. If the final round cannot be completed by dark due to weather delays or unforeseen circumstances, the tournament will revert back to the last 18 holes completed by the entire field. If inclement weather suspends play on the final day of the tournament and it is determined that all players in an age division cannot complete 18 holes by dark but the entire field in an age division can complete a common 9 holes, then the tournament will revert to a 27-hole event. If a common 9 holes cannot be completed on the final day then the tournament will revert back to the last stipulated round completed by the entire field in an age division.

Awards
Trophies will be awarded to the top finishers. In case of ties, there will be a playoff for first place only.

The Kingsville Course


You are guaranteed a great round of golf at Kingsville Golf & Country Club. The course meanders through a rolling terrain-something not often seen in Essex-County. The course is home to more than 200 species of birds and other wildlife, as well as natural historic elements unique to Essex County.
