Emergency Weather Procedure - Las Colinas Course

Emergency Weather Procedure

Las Colinas Course

When potentially dangerous weather is in the area, a single prolonged horn blast will signal the suspension of play.

Suspension of Play

  • Immediately stop play.
  • Mark the position of your golf ball.
  • Proceed to the nearest designated shelter.
  • Remain in the shelter until instructed to resume play.

Resuming Play

When conditions are safe, two short horn blasts will signal the resumption of play. Players should:

  • Return to the marked position of their ball.
  • Replace the original ball or another ball.
  • Continue play from that location.

Weather Monitoring

Potentially dangerous weather is monitored by the Mission Resort + Club Golf Shop and Optimist on-course officials. Lightning may be present even when it is not visible.

Following a suspension of play, Optimist and Mission Resort staff will transport players to the clubhouse as soon as possible. Spectators will then be transported.

IMPORTANT

All practice areas are closed during a suspension of play.

Penalty for violating a suspension of play: Disqualification.

Suggested Shelter Locations

Players should familiarize themselves with shelter locations before beginning play and proceed to the nearest safe location when play is suspended.
