What qualifications and experiences prepare you for this role?
- Ever since I joined the organization, I have wanted to do as much as I could to be involved. I've used my experience as a Board Member in other volunteer organizations as I took on more responsibilities at both the Club and District level. I teach a class on process improvement at the local university. I use many of those tools and techniques to make improvements to the many processes I observe at the Club and District level .
What are your top priorities?
- Improve communication from OI to the Club (through Regions and Districts)
- Share ideas (volunteerism, projects, meetings, etc.)
- Represent my Club, District, and OI at various meetings
How will you support and strengthen local Clubs, Districts and the Optimist International Organization?
- I will visit as many Club and District meetings as I can in order to listen to concerns and successes. I will share these with others as appropriate.
Why should members vote for you?
- I believe in this organization and what we do for youth and our communities - as well as ourselves. I want to do whatever I can to help move this organization forward.
Final Statement to Members:
- Looking forward to serving this organization in a more expanded role this next few years and hope to meet many more members at various events
