Junior Optimist Reading Program
Junior Optimist International has a program that is designed to help Junior Optimist International Members get other kids to pick up books and start reading! Through the Junior Optimist Reading Program, Junior Optimist Members can help younger kids, students their own age and children they might never even meet, plus readers of all ages who are young at heart!
Junior Optimist International has outlined two Junior Optimist Reading projects that Junior Optimist International Clubs can choose to conduct, or Clubs can develop their own ways to promote reading to other students.
Kids Mentoring Kids
Children look up to older students and trust them to know what is fun, interesting and cool! If Junior Optimist International Members show how fun reading can be, they will pass the Junior Optimist Reading Program along to other kids. Junior Optimist International Reading Month
Many students get so wrapped up in reading for school that they forget to take time to read just because they enjoy it. Junior Optimist International Clubs can designate a month to promote reading for fun to the students in their schools. Read more.
