Stories of Optimism

The first college Optimist club formed by students of La Cité collégiale
April 2, 2013

About 15 students registered in the Police Foundations Program of La Cité collégiale in Ottawa have recently formed the first college Optimist Club in the area. The induction of new members was held at the Cité collégiale on March 26 and all of the founding members were present at this inauguration.

The Optimist International movement works with young people, and the Club formed by these college students is no exception.

More specifically, the students at the heart of this project will visit the region’s high schools to present awareness workshops to the younger students covering cyber intimidation and cyber predators. The content of the workshop has also been shared with the Ottawa Police Service, which had wonderful things to say about this initiative carried by the students of the Police Foundations Program.
