Age Limit and Eligibility
Open to boys and girls who are between the ages of 11 and 18 through the final round on November 9, 2014. To be eligible, golfers may not be enrolled in college. Golfers who are younger than 11 may apply to "play up" and will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

Competition is 36-hole stroke play with tournament rounds on Saturday, November 8 and Sunday, November 9.; Optional practice rounds are available on Thursday and Friday, November 6 and 7. Carts and caddies are prohibited for all tournament rounds.
The application deadline is October 3.

Registration fee: $375 US includes two tournament rounds, range balls prior to play, golfer's lunch on both tournament round days, and an Optimist Golf gift package. Player/family is responsible for making their own hotel arrangements.
A special rate of $139 per night ($25.00 resort fee included), plus tax is available at PGA National Resort & Spa. Attention Golfers Traveling Alone
If you will be traveling by yourself and would like to share a room with another golfer, please e-mail email@example.com the following information: name, age division, arrival date and departure date. We will attempt to put you in touch with another golfer in the same age division so that you can discuss the possibility of sharing a room. This is done as a courtesy only to golfers who are traveling by themselves. There is no guarantee that we will be able to find you a roommate.
Golfers who cancel on or before October 15 will receive a refund less a $50 cancellation fee. Golfers canceling from October 16 to October 22 will receive a refund less a cancellation fee of $100. Golfers canceling after October 22 will not receive a refund. Refund requests must be made in writing; verbal requests will not be honored.

Top finishers of the Tournament of Champions will be exempt from having to qualify for the summer 2015 Optimist International Junior Golf Championships at PGA National in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida as follows: Boys 11-13 (Top 5) Boys 14-15 (Top 5) Boys 16-18 (Top 10); Girls 11-13 (Top 5), 14-18 (Top 5) plus ties.
For the 2014 Tournament of Champions, the following AJGA exemptions will be awarded:
Boys 16-18 - Champion (12 stars), Top 5 (8 stars), Top 10 (4 stars);
Girls 14-18 - Champion (8 stars), Top 3 (4 stars)
Boys 14-15 - Top 5 (2 stars).

The Tournament of Champions is nationally ranked by the Junior Golf Scoreboard and Golfweek and is included in the AJGA Performance Based Entry process.
Rules and Regulations
The Tournament will be played in accordance with USGA and local course rules. A local rules sheet will be given to all players at registration.
Code of Conduct
Carts, Pull Carts, Caddies and Distance Measuring Devices
Electric carts and caddies are prohibited in all age divisions for all tournament rounds. Pull carts are allowed in all age divisions for all rounds. Participants must provide their own equipment.
Electric carts are prohibited for spectators during tournament rounds. No exceptions. Spectators who need on-course transportation may utilize an electric mobility scooter. Scooters are available from several local rental vendors. The rental fee for a scooter is the responsibility of the individual. Please contact the Optimist Junior Golf office for a list of local vendors.
Distance measuring devices are allowed. Players may obtain distance information by using a device that measures distance only. Refer to Rule 14-3.
Completion of Play
Provided there are no weather or other delays, the final round is scheduled to conclude by 2:30 p.m. However, tournament play will extend to 4:00 p.m. on November 9 if necessary. Please plan your departures accordingly and allow for ample time for airport transfers. If the final round cannot be completed by 4:00 p.m. due to inclement weather or other unforeseen circumstances and it is determined that all players in an age division cannot complete 18 holes by 4:00 p.m. but the entire field in an age division can complete a common 9 holes, then the tournament will revert to a 27-hole event. If a common 9 holes cannot be completed on the final day then the tournament will revert back to the last stipulated round completed by the entire field in an age division.
Junior Orange Bowl
Optimist Junior Golf is pleased to announce that the winners of the Boys 16-18 and Girls 14-18 divisions of the 2014 Optimist International Tournament of Champions will earn an invitation to participate in the 2014 Junior Orange Bowl International Golf Championship. The Junior Orange Bowl International Golf Championship, one of the most prestigious junior golf events in the world is schedule for December 26-30, at the Biltmore Golf Course in Coral Gables, Florida.
Optimist Districts and Clubs are not required to provide financial assistance to golfers from their area. However, many Districts or Clubs may have funds available to assist golfers.
