The 2012 Optimist Tournament of Champions was recently held November 10-11, 2012, at ChampionsGate Golf Club in ChampionsGate, Florida.
In the Boys 16-18 division, congratulations to Claudio Correa from Santiago, Chile, for winning the 2012 Optimist International Tournament of Champions. Correa put together rounds of 70-71(3 under par). Finishing in second place was Austen Truslow from New Smyrna Beach, Florida, and in third place by way of scorecard playoff was Jake Leffew from Vero Beach, Florida. Final day low round with a 71 went to Alex Rios by way of a scorecard playoff.
For the younger Boys division (ages 14-15), congratulations to Luis Garza from Leon, Mexico, with a 71-69 (4 under par) and winner of the final day low round by way of a scorecard playoff against Zakariya Butt from Summerville, South Carolina. Second place went to Koichiro Ishika from Kakogawa City, Japan, and third place to Anthony Truong from Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam.

For the Girls 14-18, finishing on top was Karen Arimoto of Kyoto, Japan with a two day score of 70-73 (1 under par). Very close behind her and placing second was Laura Sojo 70-74 (even par), and in third and receiving the final day low round was Mai Dechathipat 76-69 (1 over par).
