Wishing to recognize young golfers at the top of their game, Golfsmith has signed on as the presenting sponsor of the District Winner Banquets at this summer’s Optimist International Junior Golf Championships at PGA National Resort and Spa in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida.

Each year thousands of junior golfers attempt to qualify for the Optimist International Junior Golf Championships through more than 50 District qualifying tournaments. The winners of these qualifying tournaments are honored each year at a banquet during the championship event. The District Winner Banquets presented by Golfsmith will take place on July 23 for winners in the Boys 10-11, 12-13 and 14-15 age divisions and Girls 10-12 and 13-14 age divisions and on July 28 for the Boys 16-18 and Girls 15-18 age division winners.

More than 620 junior golfers ages 10-18 compete in the Optimist International Junior Golf Championships each year on the courses of PGA National. The young golfers represent more than 35 states and 30 other nations. This year boys ages 10-15 and girls ages 10-14 will compete July 23 through 25, while boys ages 16-18 and girls ages 15-18 will have their turn July 28 through 31. In addition to tournament play, golfers have the opportunity to participate in a number of events that recognize and enhance their golf skills, including the District Winner Banquets presented by Golfsmith.
