What are your primary qualifications for this office?

Demonstrated success at all levels of Optimist International, including Club, Zone, and District service, from Club Foundation Representative to Club President, from College Club Faculty Advisor to District Director of Personal Growth, from Zone Lieutenant Governor to District Foundation Representative, from District Leadership Development Chair to District Governor.

Why should a Club vote for you?

My intention is to lead with total commitment to the West Coast Region and Optimist International, helping to guide us into our second 100 years of Optimism. With the support of the membership, I will consistently endeavor to garner as much success as the Club Members and Leaders at the various levels of the Region will allow under my capable and very willing leadership.

What specific things will you do to help the Clubs and Districts in your Region?

I will listen to everyone who might be willing to advise or enlighten me on what they might see as viable recommendations as to how we might help each and every one of our Members to be better Optimists. I intend to offer guidance, support, and encouragement through frequent communication as deeply as possible into each District in our Region. My intention is to explore with the membership at all levels new and better methods toward accomplishment of the goals and objectives of Optimist International. I will make you a better Optimist if you allow me to pursue this amazing opportunity.

Anything else you would like to say to Clubs.

The obvious goal is 100,000 Members by our 100th Optimist Year. I believe that objective is realistic, and reasonable. However, it will require the renewed efforts of each and every one of us, and it will require new approaches in order to succeed. I have studied and I have developed ideas that I know will work, one relating to Childhood Cancer, and the other is “spreading optimism.” I will show you how to quite readily accomplish that very thing, while at the same time helping you to discover how to take full advantage of those same benefits. Will you join me in my pursuit of success for us?
