What are your primary qualifications for this office?
Good communication skills, demonstrated leadership skills at all levels of our organization (Club, District and International), good organizational skills and years of experience with budgets and financial analysis. I have also demonstrated leadership by example by sponsoring 40 Members into our organization and being the Builder of Excellence for six new Clubs.
Why should a Club vote for you?
I am passionate about our organization and passionate about the growth issues that our organization is facing. I have good knowledge and experience within our organization at all levels and I have walked the talk (sponsoring new Members and building new Clubs). I have been District Membership Chair four times over my years as an Optimist and I want to work to help strengthen each of the Districts in our Region.
What specific things will you do to help the Clubs and Districts in your Region?
With my experience in growth, I will work with each of my Districts and their teams to help build programs and an environment that encourages growth and I will assist or find the necessary resources to help each of my Districts be successful.
Anything else you would like to say to Clubs.
The number one issue our organization is facing is our continual drop in Membership. Our number one strategy must be addressing our Growth issues. I will work with my Districts to make Growth front of mind and a primary focus for everyone. Our organization is too important and the work we do for the children and our communities is too important to lose.
